Virtual Camera Assistant

EA Create is a collective of content production teams partnering with EA Studios game teams to bring outstanding visuals, audio and technology to life. Our teams comprise of artists, engineers, technicians, designers and development directors. The EA Create Capture team provides high-quality body motion performances for in-game, cinematic and narrative sequences.

Reporting to the Stage Manager, the Virtual Camera Assistant is a member of Acquisition team - the crew that prepares and executes motion capture recording sessions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, prep, and operate the proprietary virtual camera hardware and software tools.
  • Assist with file delivery post-shoot.
  • Learn and operate proprietary tools related to the acquisition systems.
  • Participate in motion capture recording sessions including daily production prep and capture system set up.
  • Learn proprietary art pipelines, new technology, and processes.
  • Under the guidance of the Senior Acquisition team members, participate in construction/assembly of set pieces and props.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the studio Audio and Video systems.
  • Participate in talent wardrobe fitting and motion capture marker application.
  • Participate in general studio/stage maintenance.
  • Help document workflow and pipelines.
  • Contribute to postmortems, provide feedback, help improve motion capture process and data output.
 
Job Requirements
Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge of 3-D animation software, specifically Maya, Motion Builder, and Unreal.
Experience cinematography terminology and techniques, with an ability to interact with with experienced camera operators.
Direct film industry experience, including on-set etiquette.
Comfortable with the pressures of being on-set and working in a live production environment.
You should also have experience in at least one of the following areas:

General motion capture knowledge and experience.
Audio/Video production.
Kinesiology.
Animation.
Carpentry or set construction.
Film/theatre/concert stagecraft and rigging.

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $63,400 - $86,500 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
