THE ROLE:

AMD seeks an experienced corporate communications professional with demonstrated expertise in planning and executing communications for a fast-paced and growing global organization. This role is focused on both internal and external communications strategy and execution, spanning thought leadership and brand recognition, as well as ensuring that AMD employees remain aligned and engaged around the company strategy, values and growth opportunities.

 

THE PERSON:

The right person must be a strong writer and an excellent communicator across a variety of vehicles, including emails, newsletters, blogs, presentations, video, and events. You’ll need to be able to manage multiple programs at once in a fast-paced environment, be able to pivot quickly when needed, and simplify complex concepts to be easily understood by a variety of audiences. You must have solid experience developing and executing strategic external and employee communications plans, with knowledge of, and experience in, the semiconductor market – specifically focused on the engineering of GPUs – being particularly valuable. Previous experience working with senior executives is a must. The ability to successfully collaborate with other communicators, human resources, business function leads and employees, to align communications programs across the company, is critical.

 
  • SALARY RANGE:

     CAD $100,000.00/Yr.
  • CAD $150,000.00/Yr.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position entails developing and managing strong partnerships with C suite-level and senior business/regional leaders, while developing and delivering comprehensive external and internal communication strategies in support of thought leadership, brand recognition, business strategy recall, and employee engagement.

 
 
Job Requirements
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

A track record of working closely with senior executives as a strategic communications counselor on communications strategies and activities.
Act as a partner to the business functions to address general employee engagement needs.
Demonstrated background creating content and messaging for diverse internal/external audiences across a variety of formats including emails, newsletters, blogs, presentations, video, and events.
Strong ability to drive content creation and creative direction of PowerPoints and oversight of presentation development.
Experience delivering large employee communication events (All Hands, Town Halls etc) events, from content strategy development to execution.
Ability to think and communicate clearly. The ideal candidate will routinely take complicated issues and create concise communications deliverables to effectively communicate the company’s point of view.
Excellent writing skills, painstaking attention to details, and ability to navigate ambiguous issues to create concise messaging and plans.
The ability to work effectively under deadline and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Impeccable organizational skills
Experience managing a senior executive’s social media content.
Experience managing technical writers for the creation of blogs, white papers, case studies, etc.
Ability to collaborate, develop strong working relationships, and demonstrate horizontal leadership capabilities within a matrixed organization environment.
Proven experience in balancing confidential information and effective decision making under pressure.
A good knowledge of the Canadian media landscape with existing journalist relationships is considered particularly beneficial.
Prior experience in the semiconductor industry, with a strong preference for candidates with an understanding the GPU hardware and software market.


ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor’s Degree and relevant experience in public relations, corporate communications, or internal communications.
