Dying With Dignity Canada (DWDC) is the national human-rights charity committed to improving quality of dying, defending end-of-life rights, and helping people across Canada avoid unwanted suffering.

Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, the Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible for the development and implementation of DWDC’s digital marketing efforts, providing additional support as needed to traditional communications. The focus of this role is on supporter and donor engagement, lead acquisition, and brand awareness.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000

Primary duties and responsibilities:

· Represent DWDC as the first response to messages and comments across Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn, using DWDC’s Organizational Language Guide to ensure brand tone of voice and messaging.

· Manage DWDC’s content calendar and post daily across social media platforms, with a focus on increasing engagement and broadening DWDC’s supporter demographic.

· Run quarterly content calendar meetings with all staff to collect cross-departmental Marketing and Communications needs.

· Collect and analyze monthly and quarterly metrics across digital marketing platforms – using Hootsuite, Google Analytics and other Analytics platforms – and make strategic recommendations to the Manager, Marketing and Communications for areas for improvement.

· Run successful email marketing campaigns, with the ability to A/B test, analyze, and optimize performance.

· Produce creative assets and templates for the organization, including but not limited to PDF Toolkits, PowerPoint templates and presentations, social media graphics, short videos, and other materials, following DWDC’s brand guidelines.

· Liaise with the Support and Education team to promote DWDC’s monthly webinar series, including developing creative assets, drafting promotional emails, editing recordings, and posting to the website.

· Support Facebook and Instagram advertising and reporting, in collaboration with partners at Public Outreach and Manager, Marketing and Communications.

· Manage content updates on DWDC website and conduct periodic audits to ensure all content is accurate, up-to-date, and that there are no broken links.

· Support Development team in maintaining supporter database in Nationbuilder, ensuring clean data standards are maintained and that all communications are CASL compliant.

· Occasional support to Communications Specialist with blog posts, interviews, and newsletters, as needed.

· Periodically review Chapter social media pages and webpages to ensure brand consistency and recommend areas for improvement, as needed.

· Support Chapter volunteers with external communications needs, including but not limited to webinar promotions, emails to local supporters, and webpage updates.

· Manage DWDC’s asset management system, Filecamp, ensuring maintenance of images, videos, and other assets.



Job Requirements
· Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in a Marketing or Communications role, preferably in the charitable sector.

· Education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Marketing, Social Media, or a related field including university degree, college diploma, and/or relevant experience.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.

· Proficient in Microsoft tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

· Experience with WordPress or other content management systems, as well as Nationbuilder or other data management programs.

· Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro).

· Comfortable with the topic of death, end-of-life conversations, and supporting a community focused on these topics.

· Passion for supporting the end-of-life rights of people across Canada, while considering cultural differences and diverse perspectives on end-of-life care.

· Excellent time-management and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

· Ability to communicate in both official languages an asset.

· Commitment to inclusivity, diversity, equity, and accessibility.

This is a full-time position that requires in-person work 2 days per week, including Wednesdays and a second day designated by their manager, or if not designated, of the employee’s choosing. National Office located at 500-1835 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON.
