Job Description
Canada's National Observer is an award-winning daily news site that publishes in-depth and investigative journalism, data journalism, and analysis on politics, government, climate change, and social issues.

Job Requirements
- Five years of reporting experience as a professional journalist, experience covering the provincial government in Ontario and at least one year of experience doing in-depth, investigative or magazine reporting
- Recognition of your work by a journalistic organization
- Strong storytelling, investigative and research skills
- Contacts and sources and a proven record of including multiple voices and perspectives in each story, even when on deadline
- Ability to multitask and work on breaking stories while digging deep on a project
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Passionate about journalism that has an impact by holding corporations and government to account and about scooping the competition
- Independent, self-motivated reporter capable of developing a variety of sources and pitching original, important story ideas
