Sales Development Representative

Location: Vancouver, BC CA

We believe that video is the most powerful tool for storytelling, but not everyone has the skills to produce videos, and so we built the worlds smartest video creator using A.I. to solve this problem.

We launched Lumen5 in early 2017 and the platform rapidly grew to service over 200,000 users within two years. Our customers include many notable brands such as Forbes, Greenpeace, Economist, LinkedIn, and hundreds more. Our company is fully bootstrapped and through the hard work of our all-star team, we grew to become a multimillion dollar success without any investor funding.

Recently, Lumen5 won the New Ventures BC competition and was recognized for being one of the fastest growing companies in the province. Lumen5 also won the Fundica Roadshow for being one of the fastest growing startups across all of Canada. We now have our sights set on growing our users into the millions and were looking for like-minded individuals to join us in elevating Lumen5 to the next level.


Our team is looking to bring on a Sales Development Representative to own outbound sales and develop new and exciting opportunities for our Sales team. Youll play a pivotal role in building out target accounts and contact lists, find unique and creative ways to engage with prospects, and provide a great first impression of Lumen5s brand. Youll work closely with our Sales and Marketing teams to better understand key verticals and our ideal customer profile in order to develop strategies to best create net new business.

Were looking for someone that takes a human centric approach to sales, and focuses on uncovering challenges, pains, and areas of opportunities in order to present the best possible solutions to our customers. You have a hunter mentality, but are a people person at heart; youre excited to talk to prospects about their goals, and focus your attention on providing the best possible experience in order to keep customers engaged and excited to work with Lumen5. We are also looking for someone who thrives in a team environment, and gets excited about collaboration and overall team success above their own.


Responsible for developing net new opportunities and generating sales pipeline
Conduct Market Research to better understand ideal customer profile and prospects
Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to determine target accounts and key verticals
Conceptualize, develop, and execute outbound sales strategies (research and build new and existing accounts i.e. adding contacts, sending emails, strategic calling)
Provide a world-class first impression and experience for prospects and potential customers that aligns with organizational values
Maintain active engagement with new and existing leads through creative follow-up communications with the intention of increasing customer interest and developing new opportunities
Develop a comprehensive understanding of typical business challenges faced by customers, as well as strategies to handle common objections
