About the job

Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (Google Ads, AdSense, Google Marketing Platform, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across Sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.

The Platform & Ecosystems organization is responsible for bridging the best of Google to users across screens. Whether it is Android or ChromeOS, we strive to build platforms that are the most helpful, trusted, and secure in the world. We partner with product teams to understand the user, shape the product roadmap, and bring products to market through coordinated global media campaigns. As a Product Marketing Manager, you'll work closely with local and global insights teams, product teams, and consumer teams to develop and launch products in Canada. You will play an integral role in shaping the product proposition, Go-to-Market strategies and launch campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Generate user insights and utilize them to inform product definition/development, in close collaboration with our Insights, Product Managers and engineering teams.
  • Understand the Canadian market landscape, and share that knowledge cross-functionally through competitive analyses.
  • Define the product’s positioning to clearly differentiate it in the market.
  • Solve strategic marketing challenges such as branding, product naming and feature messaging.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent and impactful communication across channels (e.g., our online store, retailers, carriers, marketing campaigns).
 
Job Requirements
Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of experience in product or consumer marketing.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in branding, messaging, marketing plan development and product launches.
Experience shaping product roadmaps and user experiences through deep consumer understanding, actionable insights, and sound recommendations.
Ability to be accountable, demonstrating high attention to detail and quantitative skills.
Comfortable in ambiguity, with an ability to work across multiple product and cross-functional teams and geographies.
Interest in consumer electronics and/or audio technology.
