Media and Radio Specialist
Role Profile
Faculty of Media and Creative Art’s wide range of specialized facilities include Windows and Mac computer labs and suites, TV and broadcast studios, radio station and radio facilities, video, sound and colour correction editing suites, post production, 3D animation and motion capture systems, VR studio, eSports facilities, journalism studios, music recording studio and suites, theatre and theatre production studios, and more.
Under the general direction of the Manager, Technical Services and as part of the Faculty of Media and Creative Arts integrated technical services team, the Media and Radio Specialist maintains FMCA’s service processes and radio technical facilities, provides technical support and media services.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Ensuring FMCA radio technical facilities and assets are maintained and operational
- Installing, configuring and repairing FMCA radio technology assets
- Tier 3 technical support to FMCA radio customers
- Providing Tier 1, 2 technical support in all FMCA technical spaces to all clients
- Configuring and deploying hardware and software assets
- Assisting in AV system setup, operation and technical support
- Testing new technology
- Providing excellent customer service
- Record keeping and logging activities in ticketing tool
- Completing technical documentation and information sharing with team members
- Maintaining and upgrading technical skills and knowledge on current technologies and industry standards
- Other duties as assigned
The nature of the position may require scheduling of work hours to weekends or evenings at short notice.
