The Translator is a member of the Marketing team and is responsible for the coordination and completion of translation-related duties within the organization. They will report directly to the Manager of French Services.
Review and proofread French materials for accuracy and consistency, ensuring all material is on brand.
Provide accurate English to French translations and adaptations of internal and external Marketing communications, web pages and occasional requests from other departments.
Coordinate the outsourcing of translations to external agencies when required.
Additional ad hoc responsibilities will be assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
University or College Degree in a French linguistics, translation or related discipline
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in editing, proofreading and translation (English to French)
Related work experience in a financial or customer-focused industry would be an asset
Exposure to working in a marketing or financial environment is an asset
Completely bilingual in Canadian French and English
Superior grammar skills in French
Strong terminology research capabilities
Ability to juggle priorities, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Excellent organizational, communication and resourcefulness skills
The Marketing Translator will be working in a traditional office environment and may be subject to special working conditions as needed by the business. Special working conditions may cover a range of circumstances from regular evening and weekend work, overtime, shift work, working outdoors and/or working with challenging clients.
