DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Liaise with all MHFA-Opening Minds programs to understand their business, goals and target audiences.
Work in collaboration with the Business Development Manager to develop strategies and plans that include objectives, goals, budget and metrics.
Work in collaboration with all the required programs to ensure the implementation of the plans: execute processes that track the various phases of marketing projects
Identify, plan and implement value added initiatives and processes to improve quality, reduce costs, increase productivity and improve cycle time by reducing wasted time, redundant collateral, rework – specific to marketing and communications activities and outputs.
Assess and provide feedback/analysis on the effectiveness of campaigns and projects using all available analytics.
Liaise with members of the digital marketing team as needed.
In collaboration with the MHFA/Opening Minds programs and the Manager of Business Development, the Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for the creation, production, revision and availability of up to date and creative/innovative collateral and print ads
Contribute to the creative development of digital ads as required.
Develop, write and oversee dissemination/marketing plans for new programs/products, including environmental scans and communication strategies
Plan and oversee direct mail campaigns and other marketing campaigns, including but not limited to demonstration courses, webinars and events for targeted markets
Identify, monitor and lead attendance at appropriate conferences/trade shows and events where MHFA-OM attendance/participation is required
Oversee the development of appropriate collateral and swag for conferences/trade shows and events
Assist in the writing and coordination of conference abstracts
Responsible for the integrity of database of program logos and graphics
Provide support to all programs in relation to the MHCC brand guidelines
Provide ROI and other key metrics resulting from Salesforce campaigns quarterly or as required
Act as back up to Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist as needed
Other duties as required
Lead all internal communication from programs to Instructors
Create content and oversee quarterly newsletters to Instructors, monthly recertification and onboarding e-mails for Instructors via Pardot campaigns
Write policies relating to branding, marketing and social media for stakeholders, including but not limited to Instructors
Create marketing tools for stakeholders, including but not limited to Instructors
Develop, manage and update a communication plan for Instructors
Monitor opportunities for strategic partnerships in order to grow brand awareness and support Business Development goals
Write and edit pieces that convey key messages, reflect the Opening Minds Canada brand and resonate with target audiences; these could include but are not limited to internal announcements, newsletters, presentations, marketing collateral, professional biographies and news stories.
Monitor and report on media relating to the programs and recommend which media articles require follow-up action
Ensure brand messaging is consistent across the programs and the MHCC
Write targeted communications, including letters for direct mail-out marketing campaigns
Write, develop and coordinate ads, advertorials and articles as required for targeted publications
Create presentations and maintain a databank of PowerPoint presentations
Develop and write case studies and other written material as required
Work with MHCC Public Affairs team to create announcements and releases and special events as required around important milestones
Work with MHCC Public Affairs team to align and collaborate on marketing and traditional media outreach
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Excellent organizational skills
Proven ability to coordinate and complete multiple projects simultaneously on tight timelines
Flexible to ensure deliverables are met in an environment of changing and conflicting priorities and deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels, and with design, communications, and printing services as required
Able to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team
Adaptable with a keen interest in keeping current in field of work
Creative and solutions-driven
Excellent writing skills
Proof reading skills for traditional, social, and digital media
Experience with populating social media and digital channels
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and specifically, Power Point
Advanced knowledge of Salesforce and Pardot
Understanding importance of and able to apply brand standards and guidelines
Resourceful, fast-learner, and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills
Experience with Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
Knowledge of Drupal
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing and/or Communications
2-5 years’ experience in a marketing department or agency
Interested in social issues and the mental health cause
Fully fluent in French and English is required
