The Role

The Graphic Designer is an experienced professional who is responsible for developing and managing aspects of graphic design and online marketing presence for Grouse Mountain. Working with the Marketing team the Graphic Designer will help develop and implement all marketing initiatives & campaigns, while providing strategic input and analysis to maximize the efficacy of new and existing channels for brand development, promotions, and events across all Grouse Mountain operations.

The Graphic Designer must be self-directed and have the ability to manage multiple projects and meet short deadlines. The Graphic Designer is very comfortable with a host of software and web app tools and has previously demonstrated success in generating new ideas and producing content for a variety of media channels. Strong computer skills, web savvy, and systems orientation, supported by a passion for and keen interest in design and new media will be key to success in this role. Natural leadership abilities would be considered an asset as this role has high growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

Oversees design projects, from conception to delivery; oversees campaign creative and copy
Creates and edits artwork and imagery for print, web and multimedia applications including, but not limited to: ads (including large format advertising & signage), brochures, menus, signs, booklets, training materials, sell sheets, POS materials, decals, presentations, websites, blogs, and social media profiles for Grouse Mountain
Develops campaign creative and copy
Oversees photography and video needs
Maintains brand standards across all channels
Maintains and refines sub brand standards across all channels
Generates ideas to portray concepts and advertise products/services
Develops and implements online advertising to increase sales
Develops creative briefs when needed
Takes part in planning website development/app development with our IT team and development partners
Creates HTML templates for email blast content.
Creates online branding for various corporate social networking profiles – YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and others as assigned
Maintains and constantly improves the Grouse Mountain website and other microsites
Monitors the effectiveness of electronic communication initiatives by tracking the click through and drilldown behavior, determining referring sites, and communicating with browsers to track and analyze online behavior (Google Analytics)
Stays current on industry trends; creatively seeks out new products and maintains cutting edge industry knowledge
Other duties as required.
Job Requirements

Minimum of five years of experience in graphic design, focused on print and digital marketing. Adobe Creative Suite (PC environment) – Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign – through to preflight and packaging files for production; extensive understanding of PDF and print production; comfortable attending press-checks when needed
Extensive experience working in a fast-paced environment and with tight deadlines
Experience in branding/brand management and strategy including developing and updating brand standards and style guides
Professional level understanding of HTML, CSS, and Content Management Systems (WordPress, SquareSpace). Familiarity with Flash, Javascript and/or programming an asset.
Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Experience with digital advertising platforms, tracking and optimization
Superior attention to detail
Strong writing and communication skills
Experience with Google Analytics an asset
Experience with copy writing an asset
Video editing an asset
Photography and / or videography skills considered an asset
