In this role, you will:
Reporting to the Manager of Content & Digital Marketing, the Specialist, Digital Marketing will work closely with our digital, social media, design, and content marketers
Be responsible for delivering on our content management and site optimization plans, as well as fulfilling business requests related to our internal and external digital properties
Meeting and consulting with internal stakeholders and team members to support the planning, development, testing, maintenance, and measurement for all Economical internal and external web properties and the corporate enterprise content management platform(s)
Contributing to user story and requirement development for technology implementations
Delivering a simplified user experience that meets web standards, regulatory compliance, and reflects our brand identity and objectives
Creating workback schedules and delivering on digital marketing requests, according to marketing briefs
Publishing content to internal and external sites using our content management system (CMS)
Providing user experience (UX) and accessibility reviews and recommendations for digital and non-digital content, working closely with the Design team; also, you’ll suggest potential implementations aligned to the WAI-ARIA framework
Providing quality assurance testing according to specifications using various accessibility testing tools and/or assistive technologies (JAWS required).
Auditing application(s) during various phases of development, measuring all success criterions for both Level A and Level AA of WCAG 2.0 standards and maintaining documentation identifying accessibility issues and needed solution
PDF creation and tagging for AODA compliance to the AA level
SEO/SEM monitoring and reporting, and sharing insights with content creators
Digital marketing analytics tracking and reporting
Providing analysis/insights for stakeholder awareness
Liaising with our key development and platform vendors, along with internal IT, marketing, communication, and design teams
Your Skills and Experience
College Diploma or University Degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, or related discipline
5-7 years of progressive professional experience in a digital marketing role, with key responsibilities including content management, UX/UI, digital asset management, analytics/reporting, accessibility, quality assurance, tracking and reporting
Strong project management and analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a sense of diplomacy and professionalism when interacting with business partners
Overall business approach includes customer-service, teamwork and collaboration, ownership, flexibility, remains calm under pressure, and performs well in a busy environment
Expertise in web content management, design and publishing, online content development, user experience, usability, and accessibility; as well as experience supporting the tracking and reporting of marketing programs and campaigns
Effective skills and experience working with Cascading Style Sheets, HTML, Kentico, and/or Oracle Web Content Management. Strong knowledge of effective web testing methodology and proficient in identifying and applying web-based trends and technologies
Knowledge of the AODA (Information and Communications standards), WCAG 2.0 – A/AA, AODA, WAI-ARIA, ISO 14289-1, HTML, HTML5. Experience with accessibility compliance tracking tools (JAWS, NVDA, ZoomText, Dragon) for web interfaces, applications and documents. An understanding of ISO 14289-1 for PDF accessibility and Acrobat testing/implementation is required. An understanding of WCM, CRMs and CMS as well as a working knowledge of web technologies, web standards, mobile standards and cross-browser testing are also required. Knowledge and experience developing and implementing application accessibility compliance test plans/ strategies/ methodologies within an Agile/Lean environment would be an asset
Availability to work outside of business hours if additional or back-up support is required for an incident relating to either a website outage, and/or a catastrophe, during which the website will need to be updated to communicate with policyholders, brokers, and employees
