Purpose: Reporting to an Advisor, this position supports all members of the communications team and the implementation of projects that impact Regional programs, services and the community.

 
Job Requirements
To be eligible to apply for an intern position, you must meet the following criteria:

Legally entitled to work in Canada.
In possession of a Social Insurance Number at time of hire.
You have graduated or will graduate with a recognized post-secondary degree or diploma, post-graduate certificate or diploma between January 2019 and June 2020.

Preferred Background:
The successful candidate must possess an undergraduate degree in Communications, Digital Communications, Marketing, Visual Communications and Design or a related field. Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Adobe Premier and After Effects is required along with proficiency in HTML, CSS, and the ability to code webpages and emails. In addition, the individual will require knowledge of leading practices in internal and external communications and media relations. The candidate must be capable of planning and implementing work in an organized manner under tight deadlines while working collaboratively with others.

The candidate is expected to:
Demonstrate excellent communication, financial analysis and problem solving skills, including attention to detail.
Possess superior time management skills and be able to manage workflow in order to complete work on time and as expected.
Exhibit a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel.
Knowledge of enterprise based financial systems is an asset.
Be self-motivated and capable of working in a team environment and independently.
Assist the Communications team in the development and implementation of communications roll-out plans and core communications information including the following:
Written and visual content for a variety of communications materials, including corporate social media, advertisements, mobile signs, speaking notes, factsheets, reports, guides, media releases/advisories and web.
Creative (graphic design) materials for digital and print, including but not limited to social media, advertisements, factsheets, reports, presentations, guides, etc.; and
Campaign monitoring and analytics, web content including text, images, graphics, video and portable document format collateral using industry standard languages (HTML 5.0, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery), photography and videography, and external facing email campaigns.
Perform other duties as assigned
