We’re looking for a candidate who is:
An exceptional interviewer: You are comfortable speaking to people from all different fields, able to discern what will be interesting to our audience and what will be distracting.
A strong, concise writer: You’re a storyteller, capable of getting to the point, recognizing what elements of a story are meaningful, and driving those points home. You can make complex concepts seem straightforward, and value clarity over style.
Versatile: You’re comfortable handling a wide variety of topics (design, finance, engineering, product management, project management, technology, etc.).
Organized: You’re a capable multitasker, able to manage workflows, good at sticking to timelines, and willing to set expectations around deliverables.
Proactive: You’re motivated, willing to chase down the information you need when you need it and are not easily dissuaded when obstacles get in your way.
Detail-oriented: You sweat the details, are comfortable working with a style guide, and take great pains to ensure your copy is clean before you hand it off.
Responsibilities:
Manage editorial and creative workflows to ensure assets are accurate and delivered on-time.
Interview key stakeholders, identifying key themes and narratives that help tell our story better.
Write and edit short and long-form case studies and ensure they are discoverable by internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with Brand and Publications colleagues to facilitate the production of public-facing content leveraging your work.
Work cross-functionally with Sales and Revenue stakeholders to ensure your work satisfies their needs.
Interview Toptal clients and Toptal talent to extract engaging client stories that illustrate the value of Toptal.
In the first week, expect to:
Onboard and integrate into Toptal.
Meet the other members of the Content Strategy team.
Begin to learn the high-level principles of Toptal’s brand voice and messaging strategy.
Integrate yourself into the Marketing function.
In the first month, expect to:
Shadow our Senior Case Study Writer.
Meet other teams across Toptal that you’ll work with.
Begin to produce high-quality case studies that fulfill the needs of our various stakeholders.
In the first three months, expect to:
Become fully integrated into Toptal.
Have finished several initiatives that you’ll be proud of.
In the first six months, expect to:
Be ready to scale up production efforts.
Have published several case studies and mastered the production process.
Requirements:
5-7 years of experience working as a Content Writer (experience writing about technology is a bonus).
A strong portfolio of clips demonstrating relevant experience in B2B marketing roles, including customer case studies or success stories.
Experience working with and developing content with technical/professional subject matter experts.
A phenomenal eye for quality and an absolute unwillingness to compromise on your standards for an A+ asset.
An outstanding ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
A passion for learning and an interest in immersing oneself in new and unfamiliar topics.
The ability to work independently and develop ideas proactively.
Openness to receiving and implementing direct feedback and constructive criticism.
