The Public Relations and Communications Specialist will head the community relations and engagement activities for Aquatera while leading the content development for the organization and assist in the development and implementation of long and short-term communication strategies.
Job Requirements
This position will manage a variety of communication projects and campaigns to engage the public, ensure clear and consistent messaging and ample opportunity to provide feedback.

This challenge of this position will be to work with all departments, the management team, as well as external partners to develop content, programs and tools to enhance the interactions we have with our customers and increase knowledge of Aquatera and its subsidiary companies. In addition, the successful candidate will:

Plan and attend all external events and local tradeshows

Assist in the development of briefing notes, key messages, speaking notes, and communication plans

Oversee Aquatera and its subsidiary’s social media accounts

Develop content, programs and tools to enhance the overall image and knowledge of Aquatera, including, but not limited to, video production and school programs

Oversee the collection of customer feedback

Assist with the development of media releases and reporter inquiries

Promote and employ Aquatera Core Values

Promote a safe work environment

Promote Lean principles


Demonstrated ability as a strong writer and editor

Excellent customer relations skills

Strong communication and problem solving skills

Experience developing communication plans

Strong oral communication and presentation skills

Ability to work with agencies and contractors

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in an appropriate manner

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and part of a team

The ideal candidate will have:

Post-Secondary Education in a discipline such as a Communications or Marketing.

2-3 years experience in a communications, community relations and/or content development related role.

Strong writing abilities with experience in writing for a variety of media.

Public relations and issues management skills an asset
