Job Description
Campers Village Outdoor Adventure Store is an Alberta owned and operated company, established in 1963. Our parent company, the Norseman Group, was originally founded as Northwest Tent and Awning in Edmonton in 1921. Today, Campers Village has three stores, one in Calgary and two in Edmonton. An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Campers Village team as an e-Commerce Manager at our Edmonton West location. The e-Commerce Manager is responsible for the development, management, and maintenance of the Campers Village online sales platform and website. Working with the marketing team, graphic designers, outside agencies, and the internal IT department, the e-Commerce Manager will generate and increase sales by driving awareness and traffic to our website while conveying a consistent brand image. Organizing promotions, extending the webstore functionality, and providing information and context that may influence advertising decisions are some additional
responsibilities of the e-Commerce Manager.
Job Requirements
Job duties:
Strategic:
 Evaluate and implement strategies to improve website sales conversions and customer
engagement
 Analyze sources of website traffic (ie: email, search engine optimization, pay-per-click, affiliates,
social media, catalogues, etc.) and develop innovative methods for generating additional
traffic/orders
 Ensure consistent and accurate digital merchandising content delivery on website for product
launches, product updates, and product removals
 Liaise with agencies or in-house teams to implement and support marketing campaigns
 Analyze and document the performance of all online marketing campaigns and promotions (via
reports, analytics, surveys etc.)
 Drive customer satisfaction by monitoring key performance indicators on the website; develop and
implement plans for changes, improvements, and efficiencies
 Conduct A/B testing and conversion optimization
 Analyze and report on market trends and provide context relating to the retail market
 Liaise with internal resources regarding the day-to-day management of the website
 Demonstrate product knowledge expertise for multiple brands and product types
 Establish policies and procedures relating to the web platform
Technical:
 Manage website configuration and parameters (ie: payment options,
 Investigate and report any operational or technical issues that arise on the website
 Scope, document, test, and deploy ongoing website functional improvements and projects
 Update product information and content on the website (copy and artwork)
 Create banners, images, and promotions for display on the website (using products like Photoshop)
Requirements:
 5+ years of related e-commerce experience
 Previous experience with e-commerce CMS (preferably Magento)
 Expert understanding of web technologies (FTP, browsers, HTML, CSS, data files)
 Understanding of the disciplines required to drive traffic to retail websites (PPC, email marketing,
link generation, online PR, SEO, offline marketing and PR, affiliate programs, etc.)
 Expert understanding of Google products such as Webmaster Tools and Analytics
 Experience using packages like Excel, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver
 Familiar with data management
 Ample knowledge of business-to-consumer, business-to-business, or consumer-to-consumer
transactions
 Strong business acumen; ability to learn, understand, and converse around key business issues
 Proven analytical and strategic abilities; able to translate data into insights and identify growth
opportunities
 Strong decision-making, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
 Thorough attention to detail, with the ability to follow through on tasks and manage multiple
priorities
 Superior written and verbal communication skills
 Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
 Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work cross-functionally in a highly collaborative
environment
 Possess a deep understanding and empathy for consumers
 Ideal candidate should be experienced with, and have a passion for, premium outdoor products
Work Conditions:
 Office setting, Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm. Intensive computer use.
