Meridian has ambitious plans to launch a brand new digital bank in 2018 and we’re looking for bright, passionate and digitally savvy trailblazers to join our growing Digital Banking & Marketing team. As part of the Digital Marketing team, you will report to the Manager, Digital Marketing (Public Websites) and will be a key player in supporting the design, development, management and maintenance of our public-facing websites as well as other digital properties and marketing initiatives for Meridian and Meridian’s future digital bank.

You will support the delivery of a positive user experience and maximum exposure to content. The Digital Content Specialist will maintain and support Meridian’s digital properties, including websites, microsites, landing pages, email and social media.

You will also work closely with wide range of internal and external partners to influence and promote digital services across the organization.

This role will not have any direct reports.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:

Work with a multi-disciplinary team to keep websites up-to-date and prioritize needs
Proofread and edit content, responsible for removing expired content, managing site bugs and re-designing web pages when required as part of overseeing daily ad hoc requests for website updates, including blog posts, location/ABM data and other requested copy changes.
Work closely with the Manager and Senior Manager on a daily basis to ensure projects are completed on-time and within budget
Utilize our content management system (Kentico) to maintain website content
Ensure brand consistency, design and user experience best practices are followed and that websites comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
Identify and propose updates to websites to refresh content, enhance user experience, and increase site visibility and functionality
Regularly review and compile website metrics and conduct content audits
Assist the department with copywriting and content creation, including e-newsletters and e-blasts using an online email marketing and list manager
Optimize landing experiences for external traffic across all devices leveraging SEO tactics
Stay up-to-date with digital media developments
Use your expertise to scale and grow our social presence and engagement on Facebook and other social platforms through a paid, owned and earned media lens
Monitor competitor activity using various analytics tools, provide recommendations around optimization of content frequency, formats, and topics to deepen audience engagement and reach in order to gain market share
Perform other duties as required

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

University degree or diploma in journalism, communications and/or marketing preferred
+3 years’ experience in a design, development and/or digital role within a financial institution, agency or Fintech environment (knowledge of banking industry is a strong asset)
Effective communication and collaborative skills
Demonstrated ability to be responsive to short term change, proactive, flexible, adaptable and resilient
Excellent multi-tasking, problem-solving and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadline
Strong knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, web standards
Experience with gathering and analyzing web metrics (i.e. Google Analytics, Tealium)
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs including: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat
Advanced experience with web content management systems (demonstrable knowledge of Kentico would be considered a very strong asset)
Knowledge of current mobile-first and responsive web design best practices
Demonstrated experience in SEO/SEM
Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
Strong attention to detail, including the ability to write, proofread and edit content
Experience with Social Media Management and Analytics Software such as Hootsuite and Sysomos is a plus
Experience with social media platforms and clear knowledge of emerging technologies, platforms and their benefits to business
Ability to take initiative and work both independently and participate collaboratively in a team environment
